I think they have waffles and I know they have fried chicken. Pancakes and Fried Chicken sounds good to me. Start a new trend.🙂
I enjoyed the Pastrami Reuben and they did have corn beef as an option. I suspect they'll be serving corn beef and cabbage too as they are definitely wearing the green big time right now.
Yes, they are open both Christmas and Christmas Eve. I called to confirm.
Yes
Yeah no and not that im aware of but the experience there is what you want
No.
No...I don't believe they do. But worth the drive to go there 🙂
Yes until 8 pm that day, reservation required
I’ve been here a few times the food isn’t that great but it’s decent. That being said I went to place an order for pick up being that they are still closed to dine in. Not that this should matter but, my children were screaming in the background. I went to place an order for pick up and was told they don’t offer kids meals to go.... well you also don’t offer in dining at the moment. That just automatically turned me off and I will never go here again. There are a bunch of other diners in the area that do to go kids meals and that taste better!
This is a great place for family and friends. The owners are very personable. The wait staff is very good. The atmosphere is always festive. I think it's a little pricey, but the portions are big of you're into leftovers
We were sat quickly. They are very accommodating to the current situation going on and have set up an outside dining area. This was a comfort to me. Tammy was our waitress and was absolutely phenomenal. She was friendly, quick, funny, and checked on us several times to make sure that we had everything we needed. Definitely will return. I love the place. Best Diner on Long Island.
They have Fox News blaring from every TV. There is so much division in this country and this town. I’d like to be able to eat in peace without brainwashing state run news TV. Change the channel -and not to another news outlet. Won’t be back. The airport diner has better onion rings anyway.
Awesome! Excellent food , excellent service. A truly unique Diner. Separating themselves from all the rest. It’s a fun, clean atmosphere and the food is great. Peter and Gus have perfected the art of customer satisfaction. The entire staff is always smiling and joking around even though it’s busy. I am very impressed. Our waiter new exactly what we wanted and served it to perfection. His name was Stan... I think.
Outside and inside dining. Great food go in and say Helen sent you. Go ahead
Awesome Long Island diner! Went there for lunch and then went for breakfast two days later! Platters big enough to share for sure! Decorations are out of this world!
Been coming here since I was a kid my favorite diner good family atmosphere and the owners treat you like your family my girlfriend now also loves this diner she’s Greek and speak in Greek nice good time
I'm an Army veteran and this is my first time visiting this diner. Red white and blue decorations, blue lives matter flags, and a sign saying "Our flag won't fly without the troops" at the front desk. I thought this place is very patriotic so out of curiosity I asked about military discount. I was told "Sorry we don't have military discount". I'm totally fine with that answer, it doesn't hurt to ask. However, at the check out desk a customer showed up with his MAGA hat and got a free dessert. That got me curious where they put their priorities. From what it looks like this diner is just another establishment of giving lip service to the troops. For the Oconee Diner, a man with a MAGA hat means more to them than Veterans.God Bless America.
I was thrilled with the food and incredibly impressed with the quality of the service. From the minute we stepped out of the car we were greeted by a warm and friendly staff. Will most definitely recommend the diner to our friends, and family..
Great food. Large portions. Very good fast service. . Even for take out
My family loves this place and so do I they are the sweetest people ever.they are so helpful in getting anything you need and make you feel at home. I truly love this diner
It was ok. Considering the corona virus just went there other day. The bread was old. The waiter was nice when we walked in but after having him as a waiter he was very nasty. We were confused what changed his attitude. The food was ok. Nothing to brang about. Probably won't go back. Sorry but the truth.
I went there on a Saturday around 6pm and the place was packed. They did a great job getting the people seated. The place was all decorated for valentine's day. The waiters and waitresses and staff we're all very nice. Most of all the food was fresh and tasty.
The amount of food you get here is worth the trip!
Went on Saturday night. Parking lot packed . Line out the door . Wife and I sat at the counter no wait . Place was decorated for valentines looked beautiful. Waiter was quick and attentive. Food came out in timely manner. Just a great place ! Great vibe, good tunes the workers all seemed happy. Highly recommend this place. Wish it was closer.!
Gus and everyone one here are friendly and make you feel like family. Great food best diner on the island in my opinion.
I’ve been going to this diner for years and have always experienced high quality service and amazing food. However, today I ordered a side of potato fries and found a piece of pork in it. I haven’t eaten red meat in over 15 years so this really grossed me out. I explained the situation to my waitress and she says “It’s fine, it happens all the time. Just eat around it.” I was SHOCKED that a waitress would tell me to just eat around something that I said I didn’t want to eat. She continues to ask me “So do you want the rest to go?” without even offering to remake it or take it off the bill. Again, I tell her that I didn’t want the rest since red meat was in my food. She then ignorantly responds “pork isn’t even red meat” and walks away. I’ve had some bad experiences at restaurants before, but NEVER have I had a waiter or waitress dismiss or belittle something that clearly bothered me. Today’s experience at this diner was truly disappointing and makes me not want to go back there.
The food was very good. Peter was very nice to all of us. We went here for the break in between my father,'s wake and everyone was so kind to us. We appreciate it very much.
Great Atmospere.Great service.A very Police loving Patriotic diner
The customer service is impeccable! The food, waiter, staff and establishment gets five stars. My friend had the Captain Broil platter and I had a gyro platter with fries. It was all delicious!!! The bread was freshly baked. The waiter was so kind to pack me some to go. This is a family owned restaurant and they treat everyone as such. Bon appetite!
Uncle Pete does a great job especially with the covid restrictions!
Good typical LI diner food. You don't go to the Oconee for the food you go for the over the top decor. Service and food were both good. Overall nice experience.
Place was a zoo! The most decorated diner possibly in the US. Despite how busy, the food came out super quick. Huge menu, food was good. Staff was friendly and kept the coffee hot. Definately will be going back
Service was awesome food pure quality and the atmosphere was welcoming.
Delicious food and plenty of it everytime we go. Socially distancing under outside tent. The feta cheese on the Greek salad is the real deal. Omg fish and shrimp scampi to die for. Service is excellent and they aim to please even during these challenging times. Definitely will return. Ask for Billy he is a wonderful waiter.
Best Dinner around .food is always great, and so is the service!you feel like family when your there!
First visit January 2020 for a late breakfast. A nice experience! Parking lot was crowded but we managed to score a space and a nice booth inside. Waitress (Debbie) was friendly and attentive. Try the Farmer's omelet. Delicious!
Went here with my mother for lunch, we had an awesome experience, felt right at home; and it definitely felt like a throw back for my mother. You can tell the owners take great care of this diner and have pride in what they do; phenomenal service, and the food was delicious! We will definitely be back! Highly recommend.
Great lively atmosphere, while maintaining that traditional homey diner vibe. The staff is extremely friendly, and the owner (or manager), Gus, is very welcoming, greeting you with a smile at the door and making sure you leave happy. The food is fresh and delicious with many different options to choose from! Will be back for sure!
Amazing atmosphere! Great food! Fast! Friendly!
Awesome experience. The best breakfast ever. The best service and the best patriotic Trump America & Police atmosphere I've ever seen. The decorations inside and outside I've ever seen.Hundreds of U.S.Flags.WOW WOW WOW
Best diner around.Great food and nicest owners.
Peter and Gus are the best. Food is out fast and delicious.Best diner on Long Island
Great dinnerVery festivly decorated for each upcoming holidayGood foodGenerous portionsWith the exception of one very grumpy and gruff waiter the service is excellent Kitchen is quick and accurateI take away one star because one of the owners, a short fat bald guy See's fit to tell all night to the workers directing seating and God knows what else. After a half hour or so it gets really really obnoxious. Don't sit in the center to avoid having to listen to that
Great burgers and chicken salad and cool music.
No social distancing. Power at door with mask on chin. Not good evening
Excellent service, great food, casual atmosphere. Good place for breakfast for sure, great coffee and a wait staff that keeps the cup full. Breakfast for two will run about $40 well worth it. Didn't feel rushed food came right on everything was as ordered. Very good diner for the money. Easy to get to plenty of parking handicapped access.
Very good considering we were eating in the parking lot under a catering tent. Good service and food. They were very grateful towards all their customers. Very customer friendly here.
Brunch with my cuzzo Tom Sawyer celebrating the happiness of him surviving a head on collision last night. Service here was one of the greatest in a long time since April 1st when this pandemic took affect. Food & service is 💯 perfect
Good food and great service. Nice outdoor dining as well as indoor.
Always great food there. Big portions . Service was great . Friendly staff and always asking if anyone needs anything. I highly recommend . The photos are half the food on the plates as we ate the other half
Diners, diners, diners....this may very well have been where that old Saturday Night Live skit was inspired. The Oconee has been here forever and is a mainstay of the South Shore, if not all of Suffolk County! Come hungry leave stuffed and with a big bag of food too! The place is highly decorated for all upcoming seasons and holidays, always packed and owner Pete will load you with all the extras you expect at a diner....water, bread, cookies, tootsie pops and more. The food is right out of the Diner playbook....everything! Enjoy a family meal, no matter how big your party, reservations not required!
We heard nothing but rave reviews from friends so we figured we'd give it a try. We went on Sunday and it was crowded but only had to wait a couple of minutes. We got seated in the back part where the tables were on top of each other. The waitress was quick and very nice. I ordered the open gyro which was mostly lettuce and a small amount of over cooked meat on a plate. The dressing & yogurt sauce was the only thing that saved it. My wife had a Ruben and it was buried in sauerkraut. There was a good amount of pastrami on it. Overall it was OK, maybe because we set our sites high because our friends said it was so good.
Such a fabulous diner. Staff, food and cleaninest....
The food was excellent. Served just right, warm and tasty. You do get enough food to fill you up, even for the big eaters a /k/a heavy hitters. The place is usually packed, which is a sign of the quality food and service you receive. Family friendly and many televisions to catch some news or sports. Loved it.
Went to the Oconee diner for the first time in a long time there price went up and the food quality went down not happy
It was lovely to be able to have lunch with my Mom at a restaurant! The staff was wonderful they are taking every precaution necessary wearing masks, sanitizing after every customer, social distancing. We felt comfortable and safe!
One of the best diners around. They handled our large party with efficient service and smiles as they took our orders and returned with good food. Kept the coffee cups full and the others drinks topped up. Oconee East has been in business a long time and only gotten better with the years.
This is the best diner ever! It's always so festive. The staff is very friendly. The food is great with large portions all at a good price!
